What We Believe
About The Bible:
The Bible is God’s written Word to us through the Old and New Testaments and inspired by God. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christians beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error and the final authority in the faith and life of a believer.
                                                                                                                                                                       II Timothy 3:16-17
About God:
We believe there is only one, true living God who is eternally self-existent, omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, and absolutely sovereign over all of creation and history. He is a personal spirit, who is both completely righteous and holy, yet the only source of true, complete, and immutable love who has manifested Himself as the Father, Son & Holy Spirit.
                                                                                                                                         Matthew 28:18-20; Isaiah 45:7
About Jesus Christ:
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of Mary while she was still a virgin. He is true God and true Man. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven's glory and will return again someday to Earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. All who believe in Him and accept His saving grace through repentance and faith will be saved and have eternal life.
                                                                                                                            I Timothy 3:16; Col. 2:9
About the Holy Spirit:
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with God the Father and God the Son. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer spiritual gifts when they are saved to be used in ministry. As Christians, we are to seek to live under His control daily.             John 14:16-26

About the Church:
As a New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ, we are a local body of baptized believers who are associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel, observing the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's supper that Christ gave us, and living lives of confession and repentance. We are to be committed to His teachings, exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in us by His Word, and seeking to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth. Each believer is called by God to be an integral part of a local Church family. The New Testament speaks of the church as the body of Christ which includes all the redeemed of all the ages.                                           Hebrews 10:23-39; Acts 8:36-39; I Cor.11:23-26; Rom. 14; Mark 9:38-40

About Mankind:
People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People were created to exist forever. The Scriptures teach that man dies once and after that he is judged. Every person will appear before the judgment seat of God. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation by the Lord Jesus Christ. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. We believe in the eternal punishment of the lost after physical death. Every person is born with a sinful nature as a result of Adam’s original sin and therefore, is lost. All who die in this lost condition are immediately ushered into Hell to await final judgment to the Lake of Fire.                                                          Rom.3:23; John 3:18; I Cor.15:21-22; Rev.20:15

About Salvation:
Salvation is God's free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. We believe in the eternal salvation of the redeemed in God's presence. God, in His mercy, grace and love provided His own virgin-born Son, the Lord Jesus Christ as the only acceptable sacrifice for our sin. Christ’s death on the cross paid the price, in full, for our redemption and His actual, physical resurrection guarantees our resurrection to the Kingdom of God. We believe the promise of His literal return, to reign on this earth in the power and glory of God the Father. Salvation is completely paid for by God. If we profess that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe God raised Him from the dead we are saved.
                             Romans 10:9,10; John 3:16-17; Matthew 1:18; Ephesians 2:8&9; Romans 5:6-8;  I Cor.15:20-28, 50-52

About Baptism:
That Baptism, whether it be by immersion, sprinkling, or pouring has a significance for the adult believer. For adult believers it is a symbol of the death and burial of their old manner of living and a resurrection to their new manner of living in Jesus Christ. For the infant, it is a declaration by the parents of a sign and seal of the covenant of God that a child has been born into a Christian home, and that the parents and the church, with the help of God, will teach and guide that child in the way of the Lord. With the hope that at the proper time, the child too will come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.
